Dresden ascends into 1st German Chess League

On their last match day, the chess team of the USV TU Dresden won the championship in the 2nd German Chess League East. With a clear victory of 6:2 against the now descending Leipzig-Gohlis team, the octet around the GMs Jens-Uwe Maiwald and Wolfgang Uhlmann celebrated the ascension into the 1st Chess League in the year of the Chess Olympics in Dres-den. Both players had before descended into the 2nd Chess League with the Dresden SC in 2000. Congratulatins to the ascension!
