Poster series with football player Ronny Freudenberg
After the first edition themed “Opposites attract”, the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden, main sponsor of the Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008, continues its campaign with chess motives. Starring Ronny Freudenberg, player of the German national league football club Dresden Monarchs, a poster has been published in which the national player and candidate for “Sportsman of the Year” fully dressed in his sport uniform plays chess against a banker.
The unusual motif series, according to the financial institution, places emphasis on the charm of the opposites and serves in the whole city as eye catcher and medium between finances, sport and game. Consciously, the intellectual connection between strategy, planning, tactics and financial management is combined with an element of surprise.
The chess playing football star surprises as much as the travesty artist Zora Schwarz of the „Carte Blanche“ in evening gown on the poster published before. Parallel to the preparation of the Chess Olympiad, the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden plans to publish more fancy pictures which will attract the attention of the beholder for the Chess Olympiad and the financial institute. The campaign thus far indicates the publishing of further inventive and surprising motives.
The Defence Back of the Dresden Monarchs will be playing a home game against Cologne on 14 June 2008 at the Heinz-Steyer-Stadion in Dresden, in which the chess grand master Susan Polgar welcomed the football fans recently.
