EnBW supports the Chess Olympiad
The Chess Olympiad Dresden from 12 to 25 November receives a new face. The City of Dresden, the Schacholympiade 2008 – Chess Foundation GmbH and the EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG as new main and presenting sponsor introduce the new signet of the event. It graphically combines the tournament logo with this of the new sponsor.
Poster series with football player Ronny Freudenberg
After the first edition themed “Opposites attract”, the Ostsächsische Sparkasse Dresden, main sponsor of the Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008, continues its campaign with chess motives. Starring Ronny Freudenberg, player of the German national league football club Dresden Monarchs, a poster has been published in which the national player and candidate for “Sportsman of the Year” fully dressed in his sport uniform plays chess against a banker.
Global Player provides server technology and IT services
The Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008 announces about six months before the first move on 12 November 2008 another national co-sponsor. The IT concern IBM Deutschland GmbH joins the largest chess event worldwide.
Her birthday celebrated the Hungarian-American chess genius Susan Polgar on April 19th, 2008 in the Dresden Residence Castle. The former chess world champion was, on her great day, the star visitor of this year’s Press Gala. The glamorous meeting of journalists, politicians and business representatives this year will be themed “Rochade in black and white” – on the occasion of the Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008 from 12 to 25 November.
Today is 'stamping day' in the Dresden city hall – the special edition stamp sale for the Chess Olympiad 2008 was launched at 9 am this morning by Dresden's incumbent mayor Dr. Lutz Vogel together with the president of the Saxon parliament, Erich Iltgen, and Dr. Heidi Brandt as representative of the Deutschen Post AG with a short ceremony. For one day the special branch post office can be found in the city hall cellar from 10am to 3pm for all souvenir hunters to purchase the collector’s pieces on the occasion of the Chess Olympiad 2008 in Dresden. The postmark which will be stamped with was designed especially for this promotion day.
