Working meetings during the 78. FIDE-Congress in Antalya (Turkey)

On the occasion of the FIDE Executive Board meeting, which was opened today in the frame of the 78th Congress of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Antalya (Turkey), a delegation from Dresden met with the FIDE-Technical Administrative Panel and the FIDE Vice-Presidents in charge of the co-ordination of the Chess Olympiad Dresden 2008 Geoffrey Borg and Israel Gelfer.

The FIDE-Technical Administrative Panel (TAP) chaired by Almog Burstein from Israel is in charge of all questions concerning paring at the Chess Olympiad. “We made the necessary fixings”, said the Chairman of the Organizing Committee Dr Dirk Jordan, who is in charge of the technical sport preparation. In addition other issues and details concerning the registration of the players and the daily paring were discussed.

FIDE-Executive Director David Jarrett and Treasurer Nigel Freeman participated in the meeting with the co-ordinators from FIDE being in charge of the Chess Olympiad 2008 Borg and Gelfer to discus last details concerning the contractual Agreement between FIDE and the City of Dresden and the presentation to the FIDE-Congress on coming Friday, when the President of the Organizing Committee, Mayor Winfried Lehmann, also will be present in Antalya.
